One of the most striking features of the AIA Financial Center is its integration of modern Grade-A office towers, an international professional theater, a commercial center, and historical buildings. It is not just an office building, but a complex that unites art, culture, commerce, and work. This breakthrough design concept is relatively unique among Shanghai’s architecture. The site also preserved some historical buildings, and NBBJ did an excellent job of blending new and old elements in the design, giving the old buildings new functions and life while allowing the historical character of the entire area to be preserved.
