In the renovation project, the layout of the slow-moving space was re-planned, resting platforms were added to the landscape space along the street and river. At the same time, the operator team cleaned up the river, added uniform store signs , and the lighting design are refined to unify the street space. Through the integration of urban space, building facade, building interior and signage design, Sanyat’s architects transformed the original site elements into construction, and at the same time brought the site and historical memory to the users. The architects, in their roles as “fixer”, “modifier” and “creator”, solve the problem of homogenization and disorder in the site, while maintaining the essence of the historic district and implanting new contemporary life and space.
